The famous Swiss brand Tag Heuer was founded in 1860 by Edouard Heuer, a 20 year old young man who was fond of precision time-keeping. Though he was young, he was talented in designing and manufacturing timepieces.
In 1969, he surprised the whole watchmaking industry by unveiling a stopwatch named "Micrograph" as accurate as 1/100 th of a second, then followed by a more accurate "Semicrosplit", which reaches 1/50 th of a second. The chronographs were manufactured so splendid by the brand that they were appointed as the official timepieces of the Antwerp Olympics.
It was also in 1969 that Heuer gained great success and established its solid place among the luxury watch manufacturers since its join venture with Breitling and Hamilton. In the following years, Heuer manufactured a series of famous watches with improving technic and innovation.
In 1985, Heuer was officially established under the name of Tag Heuer Watch company when it was purchased by Tag. The company went on making many splendid timepieces that were well received all over the world for their splendid design and qualities, and the in vogue Tag Heuer Formula 1 is a manifestation of its success.
In 1999, the brand was purchased by LVMH Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, which was a luxury brand holding company. And top priority was given to enhance the brand as well as increasing its distribution capacity.
One prominent timepiece produced by the brand was the Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 Day Date Chronograph (Singapore Limited Edition). They have some distinguish features include the green color logo, the green borders, the wonderful luminous index on the dial, a 43 mm titanium mad case, a green chronograph second hand, and leather strap with green stitching. All these spectacular features make the limited edition of 250 pieces valuable.
